My name is Sabrina Goldstein. I have been a K-6 teacher for over 19 years and currently hold a Digital Learning Coach TOSA position in Anaheim Elementary School District.
I started out in education earning an Early Childhood Education Associates Degree from Moorpark College before heading to Chapman University to earn my Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies. I went on to receive my teaching credential from Chapman University. As I was starting my teaching career, I quickly started navigating what I like to refer to as the pendulum of curriculum and philosophy changes that being a teacher requires. Since my roots are in child development, I hung to what I knew was right, which was child-centered instruction.
In my 6th year of teaching I went through the process of earning my National Board Certification. This experience was a very challenging way to strengthen not only my understanding of my students and their learning but also my instructional strategies.
Hello!
In my years as a teacher, I always gravitated to using student interests as a way of harnessing motivation in curriculum. For this reason I was an early adopter of educational technology in my district, as opportunities to learn and use technology in the classroom presented itself, I jumped at the chance. As a result, I observed my students grow in their interest in our subjects and in many cases I saw academic achievement rise and saw positive student and parent satisfaction.
Purpose: The purpose of this portfolio is to highlight my understanding of the ISTE Coach Standards. In doing so I will expand my knowledge of the ISTE Coach Standards and explore evidence of these standards in my professional practice. Stemming from my understanding of these standards I have communicated my Coaching Project Proposal that directly address the current technology and pedagogical that directly affect my school staff.
Navigtion of my site is simple. The top menu bar displays my main pages. I go into detail and present evidence about each ISTE Coaching Standard under the tab, "ISTE Standards."
